General Information

Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you are prepared to start gym on time. This allows you sufficient time to change and use the washroom before class begins.

Make sure to review the Fundraising Information Page.

What to Wear

Recreational athletes: Girls are encouraged to wear a bodysuit. Elastic-waist shorts or leggings over their suit are acceptable, but skirts, skorts, or dresses are not allowed. Boys should wear a fitted T-shirt or tank top paired with fitted shorts that have elastic waistbands. All clothing should be free of zippers, snaps, or metal buttons. While bare feet are preferred, any exposed warts must be covered with tape, dance slippers, or socks with sticky soles. Athletes on the Junior Olympic Team are required to wear a bodysuit during training.

Any athlete with medium to long hair must have it secured away from their face; braids or low ponytails are ideal. Please avoid using bobby pins, headbands, hard barrettes, or bulky ties, as these can be uncomfortable during certain gymnastic skills.

Jewelry is not permitted during class, including watches, necklaces, bracelets, and large earrings. Small ear studs and watches are acceptable. Additionally, please remove all body piercings while participating in gymnastics.

It's advisable to leave valuables at home, as we cannot be responsible for them. Coaches will enforce this dress code to ensure the safety of both our athletes and coaches, as well as to protect our equipment. The supervising coach has the final say, and athletes who are not dressed appropriately may not be allowed to participate.

Please bring a bag for your clothing and a non-spill water bottle.

Parents, please supervise your children in the viewing area and kindly clean up after them.

Discipline in the Gym

Discipline in the gym is vital if injuries are to be kept at a minimum. Athletes are expected to be attentive to coaches, kind to others and respectful of the gymnastics equipment and facility. Disruptive or distracting behavior is not acceptable. The disciplinary protocol is as follows:

  • Verbal warning will be given.
  • Time out of the group (within close proximity).
  • Time out of the group and parent contacted.
  • One class suspension (without refund).
  • 2-3 class suspension (without refund).
  • Long term suspension. If behavior continues to occur, and if no solution is found the result may be final dismissal from the program without refund.

Please make sure your child knows what is expected of them. You may also come to watch your child during class to ensure proper behavior. If a coach has to reprimand a child it takes time away from other children.
